"Hello, I am Debjani Bhowmik and I am a Counselling Psychologist, assisting people to manage their psychological, emotional and behavioural problems. I have completed my training for 4 years under renowned psychologists in different hospitals and mental institutes/clinics based in Kolkata, India. I have been practising for more than 2 years in the field of counselling psychology and stress management in both online and offline settings. I work with Individuals struggling with issues like Mood Disorders, Phobias, Anxiety, Panic disorders, attachment issues, adjustment issues, Grief, Trauma, Eating Disorder, Personality issues, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Substance Abuse Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Somatoform Disorder, Family and Relationship Issues, Couple/Marriage Counselling, Children and adolescent counselling, Teen counselling, Self- esteem, self-image and confidence-building, body image issues, Anger Management, Guilt and frustration, Loneliness, Stress management, academics and behavioural problems of children and adults. I am also a queer affirmative therapist trying to make it a little less hard for the LGBTQIA+ community . I specialise in techniques such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I have completed my B.sc (Honours) in Psychology from Gokhale Memorial Girls College, University of Calcutta and my M.sc in Applied Psychology from Raja Bazar Science College, University of Calcutta. I have been appointed as an Associate Counsellor member of the World Mental Healthcare Association, Kolkata since 2021. I follow a Client-Centred Approach as I believe in listening without judgement and acknowledging the client?s experience without shifting the conversation in other directions. As a psychologist, my role is to encourage and support my client in the process of self-discovery which happens as they talk it out and uncover what hurts them. The ultimate aim is to help my client in finding what is needed to repair the wound to improve their mental and physical health and improve the overall quality of living."
